It’s not officially Christmas until you get to see a panto, right? We were over the moon to be invited along to Darlington Hippodrome again this year for the opening weekend of the fairest panto in the land… Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs!

Growing up, every December my family and I would go to a pantomime. It became a tradition, one that is still going to this day even now that I’ve grown up. To be honest, there’s nothing quite like a panto to get you in the Christmas spirit so Adam and I were over the moon to be invited along to Darlington Hippodrome for their press night of this years show, The Pantomime Adventures of Peter Pan!

On Monday night, Adam and I headed to Darlington Hippodrome having been invited along to the opening night of Strictly Ballroom: The Musical.
Based on Baz Luhrmann’s directorial debut, Strictly Ballroom: The Musical follows rebellious ballroom dancer Scott Hastings, played by Strictly Come Dancing favourite Kevin Clifton. As his daring dance style sees him fall out of favour with the Australian Federation and fellow dancers, he decides to partner with beginner Fran, played by the incredible Maisie Smith, and together they decide to defy tradition and follow their dreams of dancing their own steps.


A couple of weeks ago I was invited along to the VIP launch of the new 1189 Bar & Kitchen at the beautiful Walworth Castle Hotel, just outside of Darlington.
The restaurant has opened it’s doors following a £50,000 refurbishment and I was so excited to head along with Adam and see what the menu had to offer!
