SOUNDS OF… JANUARY

So each month I like to put together a playlist of 20 songs that I’ve been listening to, whether they’re brand new, or older tunes I’ve been revisiting, and here’s my first playlist of 2017!

Expect new tunes from the likes of Ed Sheeran, The Chainsmokers, and Major Lazer in there, and some film soundtrack tunes too from T2 Trainspotting, Manchester By The Sea, Fifty Shades Darker and La La Land.

Enjoy! x

SOUNDS OF… NOVEMBER

So in October I promised that I’d be doing a ‘Sounds Of…’ playlist on Spotify each month consisting of 20 songs that I’m currently listening to…and here it is for November!

There’s a lot of cool new music about at the minute from the likes of Childish Gambino, Sia and DNCE so expect to hear those guys in there, alongside some other tunes from The Black Sheep Frederick Dickens, Casual Threats, LIFE, Justice, The xx, Avalanche Party and PLAZA…just to name a few!

Enjoy xo

DNCE: BODY MOVES

For the past week I’ve had DNCE ‘Body Moves’ on REPEAT. Their latest tune follows the same path as ‘Toothbrush’ and ‘Cake By The Ocean’…it’s catchy as hell! It’s the lead single taken from their self titled debut album, which is due for release on November 18th, which I can’t wait to hear.

The video for the single, directed by Hannah Lux Davis, is super hot to say the least! It shows the band performing, letting loose and getting preeeetty raunchy in a lift.

Joe Jonas is certainly proving his wholesome, innocent days are behind him with his antics in this video…so let’s take a few minutes to appreciate that.

Sounds of… October

So I’ve FINALLY joined Spotify! I’m late to the party, I know…

I’m constantly making playlists on my iPod so I thought, why not create them on Spotify for you to enjoy too! The idea is that I’m going to create one playlist each month of 20 songs- a mix of new tunes, and some older faves, that I’ve been listening to.

October is my first playlist and features songs from Slaves, Kings of Leon, High Tide 15:47, Busted, White Lies, The Last Shadow Puppets and many more.

So here it is, this is Sounds Of…October and I hope you enjoy!

White Lies: Friends

white-lies-friends

White Lies are a band that, in my eyes, can do no wrong. I’ve loved everything that they’ve released since I first heard their debut album ‘To Lose My Life…’ in 2009, and they’ve always been a band that have excited me. Their latest, self produced album, ‘Friends’, is no exception. I could probably say everything I want about this album in two words, those words being ‘it’s genius’, but I’m not going to do that.

THE ENEMY: MY LAST GOODBYE

10 years, 4 albums, and countless gigs later Coventry lads The Enemy have called it quits. The band, who consist of Tom Clarke, Andy Hopkins, and Liam Watts, made the announcement earlier this year, but after watching them at one of their final hometown shows this weekend, it seemed the right time to say goodbye to one of my favourite bands.
