I absolutely cannot believe that we’re into the last week on the lead up to Christmas and I’m only just writing my November debrief! Can you tell it’s been a busy few weeks? Anyway November seems like a lifetime ago but here’s what I got up to…
On Saturday night, Adam and I were invited along to Ushaw Historic House, Chapels & Gardens for the opening night of Illuminating Ushaw: Land of Enchantment.
The stunning Christmas light trail returns for a third year and sees the gardens of Ushaw Historic House transformed into a magical winter wonderland with art installations and illumination features and decorations throughout the grounds, designed by regional artists and by children from local schools.
As of Saturday 26th November, Christmas has officially landed at Beamish Museum!
Adam and I absolutely love a trip to Beamish, especially at this time of year, so we were very happy to be invited along to travel back in time to experience the magic of Christmases past on Sunday afternoon. We decided to make it a full family trip with my Mam and Dad (and Florence) coming too with the passes that they already had.
On Monday night, Adam and I headed to Darlington Hippodrome having been invited along to the opening night of Strictly Ballroom: The Musical.
Based on Baz Luhrmann’s directorial debut, Strictly Ballroom: The Musical follows rebellious ballroom dancer Scott Hastings, played by Strictly Come Dancing favourite Kevin Clifton. As his daring dance style sees him fall out of favour with the Australian Federation and fellow dancers, he decides to partner with beginner Fran, played by the incredible Maisie Smith, and together they decide to defy tradition and follow their dreams of dancing their own steps.

October was a wonderful month – I’ve really been embracing Autumn, Arctic Monkeys and Taylor Swift released new albums and Halloween was a success. Let me tell you aaaall about it!
Back in the Summer Adam and I headed along to The Engine Inn, Walbottle, for Sunday lunch and it’s easily the best roast I’ve had! I’ve been desperate to head back so was over the moon to be invited along with the family last week for a tasting night of their brand new winter menu which has just launched.
Two things you might know about me (or you might not!) but 1- Autumn is my favourite season and 2- I love a list, that’s why I’ve decided to create a little bucket list/to-do list for the coming months to celebrate this wonderful season!
Has someone got 2022 on fast forward because I swear it’s going faster than any other year! I can’t believe we’re just over a week into October. Bloody crazy! Let’s have a chat about what I got up to in September…
As you may know from my previous post, Adam and I were invited down to Stockton for the day-long music festival The Gathering Sounds on Saturday 24th September. The line-up this year was absolutely STACKED so we made sure to get ourselves down early to make the absolute most of the day. I reckon we did well considering we got to see 11 acts during our time there and covered all 5 venues!
