We’re a little way through June now, finally starting to get the good weather and I can’t wait for the summer to fully begin, but let me tell you – I absolutely LOVED the month of May! It was full of fun and full of bank holidays. I could definitely get used to having 3 of them a month…
On May 7th, we were invited along to Tyne Bank Brewery for their bank holiday Sunday sesh with The Cuban Brothers and let me tell you, it’s not a night I’ll be forgetting anytime soon.

Let me first start by saying that Tyne Bank Brewery is FAB! Situated just on the outskirts of Newcastle city centre in Byker, the brewery is a brilliant space for gigs, drinks and events and is well worth a visit. They’re also dog friendly which is always a bonus. Just a quick FYI – Tyne Bank also do weddings and they’ve got their next showcase on the 9th July where you can speak to the wedding team and local suppliers, so if you’re getting hitched and want somewhere a little more unique I’d definitely recommend giving it a visit.
When we arrived to the venue, we headed straight to the bar to try one of their very own craft beers. Adam and I both opted for a pint of Nowt Daft (class name btw) which was a nice pale ale, bit fruity and super light. It went down an absolute treat! Food was on offer while the DJ’s were getting the crowd ready for The Cuban Brothers thanks to North East Beef who served up some delish flame grilled rump steak and chips with chimichurri. The steak literally melted in your mouth, it was unreal.

And now…the main event. The Cuban Brothers.
Goodness, gracious, ME! I don’t even know where to begin. I’ve seen The Cuban Brothers name dotted about on festival posters in the past, spotted them on socials, but didn’t really know anything about them. There’s one thing I can tell you for certain though- you’ll never forget your first time seeing them!
If you like good music and a bit of filthy fun then it’s definitely the show for you.

Miguel, Kengo and Domenico took to the stage and I’ve never seen a crowd go so wild. They’re known for spreading laughs and a whole lot of Latin love across the globe and I can totally see it, women were literally trying to climb up to them and were SCREAMING…especially when there was a bit of hip thrusting action and stripping going on! They were absolutely on it with the jokes, the music, the dancing as soon as they hit the stage right til the end. I don’t think I stopped dancing or laughing throughout the whole set, in fact, I’m actually pretty sure my mouth also stayed open for the whole thing as I was just taking it aaaaall in!
I’ve honestly never seen anything like it (in the best way possible!) and I’d recommend anyone and everyone going to see them if they’re ever playing in your area. We had so much fun and are so thankful to Tyne Bank Brewery for inviting us down!
