A Visit To The Armoury (AD)

Adam and I love a little jaunt to Seaham on a weekend so I was really excited to be invited along to The ARMourY to grab a drink and try some food from their new menu!

You’ll find The ARMourY, formerly Flanders, on North Terrace pretty much directly opposite Tommy – a perfect view if you ask me! I absolutely love the decor too. The walls are filled with art that honours heroes through stories and quotes of sacrifice and bravery, with each section of the eatery a tribute to veterans. There’s a real community spirit and you can see that the minute you step foot in the place.

Whether you’re wanting breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a drink, The ARMourY has got you covered. They pride themselves on traditional, home cooked food using locally sourced ingredients and we were overwhelmed looking at their menu as there was SO much to choose from!! While we were perusing the menu, we ordered our drinks – I went for a mocha, Adam a Pepsi Max. The staff were so friendly, always offering a smile and happy to help.

We finally made our choices for lunch – Adam ordered the large fish and chips and after finding out pie of the day was steak and ale, I decided on that! When our meals were served we couldn’t believe the portion sizes. Very generous portions and excellent value for money. Then we get to the actual food itself… AMAZING! The food was fresh, delicious and it needs to be mentioned that the chips are some of the best I’ve ever had.

As you can see, we completely cleared our plates!

We absolutely loved our visit and will definitely be heading back for both brunch AND Sunday lunch because those roasts look bloody lush on their Insta!

The ARMourY is open 10am – 5pm Monday to Friday and 9am – Late Saturday and Sunday and you’ll be happy to know they’re dog friendly too! Perfect if you’re taking your pooches for a walk along the harbour and fancy some scran or a cuppa. You can also find a second ARMourY at Fit24 gym, also in Seaham, and can order on Just Eat.

Thank you so much to the team for inviting us down – we can’t wait to return.
