Autumn is my favourite season, and it’s finally here! Cosy nights in, binge watching TV shows under blankets, mugs of hot chocolate, darker nights, and the sound of rustling leaves wherever you walk. To celebrate the season, I’ve come up with a little bucket list to work my way through over the coming months!
Change Up My Wardrobe
It’s time to trade in sandals for boots, and bikinis for jumpers. Autumn is all about the big, comfy clothes and I can’t wait to take myself on a shopping spree to shop the new season.
Try A Pumpkin Spice Latte
Yep, a trip to Starbucks is definitely needed because I have NEVER tried one of their famous Pumpkin Spice Lattes! I’m a terrible person, I know…
Buy A New Candle
I love candles and we always have them in our house, but they’re usually ones that my Mam has chosen. I’d like to find a nice autumnal candle for the cosy nights in preferably a nice spiced one!
Get Creative With Pumpkins
I often see so many pumpkin recipes this time of year on Pinterest, so I’ve decided I’m going to try some of them out. I’m thinking soup, pie…or maybe even bread!
Horror Film Night
Halloween is my favourite holiday but weirdly, I’m terrible when it comes to horror films. This year I want to hide under a blanket and get a bit creeped out my some films. If you’ve got any suggestions, let me know!
New Make Up Haul
Autumn is all about browns, reds, and warm colours so I’d like to get myself some new make up, specifically lipsticks, to match the season!
Take Walks In The Park
Sunderland Illuminations are once again taking place in Roker Park, and they’ll be open from 24th September, to the 5th November, which gives me the perfect excuse to get wrapped up and take a walk in the crisp autumn air!
Try An Autumn Cocktail
Apple, pumpkin and cinnamon are three key autumnal flavours, ones I wouldn’t necessarily choose especially in a drink, so I’ve decided to be a little adventurous and find a delicious seasonal cocktail to drink over the coming months!
I love spending hours painting my nails and experimenting with different patterns and effects so I think over the next few weeks I’ll try out different colours and nail art for the season.
Cook Warm Comfort Food
I don’t cook tea very often, but when I do get into the kitchen I absolutely love it. When the nights start getting colder and darker I immediately like to turn to nice warm, comforting food and I’d like to cook some of that myself this year. I’m thinking a nice stew…
Bake Halloween Treats
Every year we host a family Halloween party and I plan on baking some spooky cakes as part of the spread!
Read By The Fire
I love sitting with the fire on 1- because I’m always cold and 2- because I find it so peaceful, and it creates the perfect atmosphere to read. I’m probably one of the only people who hasn’t read The Girl On The Train, so that’s going to be my go to book. Then I can catch the film at the cinema straight after too!
Take Polaroid Pictures
I haven’t used my Instax in quite some time, and I think autumn will be the perfect season to use it. Photos of the trees as they change colour, family days out, jumping around in leaves…perfect.
Have A Harry Potter Marathon
There’s just something about this time of year that makes me think of Harry Potter. I think it’s to do with September being time to head back to Hogwarts, and of course, all the autumn and winter scenes in the films!
So there we have it, that’s my bucket list to keep me busy over the coming weeks…and I cannot wait to get cracking!
