Little Robot Comedy @ SpaceBar Sunderland: Review

Friday 3rd October saw Little Robot bring their comedy event back to SpaceBar Sunderland for their 2nd comedy night, following on from a successful show there back in May!

The set up of the room was a little different this time, with tables and chairs set out around the room, rather than rows of chairs. It worked so much better and gave a real laid back, comedy club feel to the room. Popcorn was brought around to each table too in time for the show to begin, a lovely treat!

Si Beckwith was on hosting duty and if you’ve seen Si before, you’ll know how good he is at interacting with the audience and getting them ready for the night ahead. He had us in stitches chatting to certain members of the crowd and all I’ll say on the matter is long live the goths!

First up was Scouse comedian Dean Coughlin. Dean’s comedy is very dry which isn’t always for everyone but my god, he had me crying. I love uncomfortable humour and Dean definitely had that in his locker – big, big fan.

Next up was local comedian (and artist!) Susan Warlock. Susan’s anecdotal comedy had the audience giggling, especially the women in the room, with her dating stories! I also really enjoyed the tales from her childhood.

The headliner for the evening was Britain’s Got Talent headliner Danny Posthill. Danny had me in fits of laughter from the get go and does a better Michael McIntyre than Michael McIntyre himself! His various impressions were brilliantly funny and he had the room roaring with laughter! My favourite impression was Alan Carr doing the voiceover for Grand Central trains. Incredible.

Overall another fantastic night put together by Little Robot. If you’re on the lookout for a comedy night, keep an eye on their socials to see all of their upcoming shows around the North East!

Huge thank you again for having us down.
