When I was a teen my Friday nights consisted of heading down to the Dunes in Shields with the girls and spending hours playing game after game of bowling and drinking one two many J20’s! PizzaStorm is one of my favourite spots to visit in Newcastle for scran. Residing in Intu Eldon Square, the restaurant is super affordable (and fast!) with pizza’s starting from £6.55! You can choose one of their signature pizza’s from the menu, like Loaded Cheese Feast or Smokey BBQ Chicken, or you can create your own.
I’ve heard a lot about The Alchemist, mostly from friends in Manchester and Leeds, so was thrilled when I first heard that they’d be opening one in Newcastle! Taking up residence in the swanky new Grey’s Quarter of Intu Eldon Square, the bar has certainly had a lot of buzz leading up to it’s opening.
I was lucky enough to be invited along to the media launch on Tuesday (21st March) with my work colleagues to witness the magic first hand, and boy was it exciting!
The Alchemist bills itself as a ‘celebration of the unconventional, dark and controversial’, which is certainly represented first and foremost by it’s interior. Dim lighting, gothic artwork, dark wood and warm copper tones, the bar is incredibly magical and captivating. Before drinks are even added into the equation, the place is already an Instagrammers dream!
