SIX THE MUSICAL: REVIEW, STOCKTON GLOBE

Ok so we all know how it goes…
Divorced. Beheaded. Died.
Divorced. Beheaded. Survived.

Except last night (and until the 2nd of January!) it’s divorced, beheaded, LIVE at Stockton Globe as SIX makes its royal return to Teesside following a sold out run last year.

If you want female empowerment, dazzling costumes and banging tunes then you’ve definitely come to the right musical!

THE PANTOMIME ADVENTURES OF PETER PAN REVIEW

Growing up, every December my family and I would go to a pantomime. It became a tradition, one that is still going to this day even now that I’ve grown up. To be honest, there’s nothing quite like a panto to get you in the Christmas spirit so Adam and I were over the moon to be invited along to Darlington Hippodrome for their press night of this years show, The Pantomime Adventures of Peter Pan!

STRICTLY BALLROOM: THE MUSICAL REVIEW

On Monday night, Adam and I headed to Darlington Hippodrome having been invited along to the opening night of Strictly Ballroom: The Musical.

Based on Baz Luhrmann’s directorial debut, Strictly Ballroom: The Musical follows rebellious ballroom dancer Scott Hastings, played by Strictly Come Dancing favourite Kevin Clifton. As his daring dance style sees him fall out of favour with the Australian Federation and fellow dancers, he decides to partner with beginner Fran, played by the incredible Maisie Smith, and together they decide to defy tradition and follow their dreams of dancing their own steps.

The Gathering Sounds – Review (AD)

As you may know from my previous post, Adam and I were invited down to Stockton for the day-long music festival The Gathering Sounds on Saturday 24th September. The line-up this year was absolutely STACKED so we made sure to get ourselves down early to make the absolute most of the day. I reckon we did well considering we got to see 11 acts during our time there and covered all 5 venues!

With that in mind, let me tell you all about it.

DOPPIO MALTO – METROCENTRE (AD)

I took a little trip to Italy earlier this week when I headed along to the Metrocentre to visit the latest addition to their food quarter – Doppio Malto!

Known for its motto ‘un posto felice’ – a happy place – Doppio Malto offers a beautiful, vibrant setting with vivid coloured walls filled with art, cosy botanical corners and bright lights all around. A smile graced my face the moment I arrived, and I can tell you now it stayed there til I left.

I was invited along for an exclusive evening of beer tasting and menu sampling and let me tell you, I was not prepared for what went down…

Angry Birds Adventure Golf at intu Metrocentre

The first ever Angry Birds Adventure Golf course has opened at intu Metrocentre and Adam and I were so excited to be invited along for a game earlier this month, just after we’d visited the Arctic Experience. We both absolutely love mini/crazy golf and we’re both pretty competitive- there have been many times in our relationship already where we’ve fallen out playing games. Ok, I say ‘we’ but what I mean is that I’ve taken the huff because I’m a bad loser – oops!
