I’ve been to Parklife 4 years in a row now. The first was as a punter, and the last three I have worked as part of the artist liaison team…and I absolutely LOVE it! Running around and helping out behind the scenes is so much fun, and I can’t wait to get back this year.
With just under two weeks to go until this years shenanigans, I thought I’d put together a playlist of twenty tracks from some of the artists playing the festival this year. The line up is so strong (it always is) so it was hard to choose, but hopefully you’ll enjoy what I’ve picked out, and it’ll get you ready for your weekend!
While I was writing this post, I also thought I’d share my top five festival tips and tricks, so here goes…
1. BRING A WATERPROOF
Sadly, there’s always a high chance of rain because, well, we’re in Britain. A waterproof is definitely necessary, even if it’s just a little cagoule or a poncho – make sure you have one!
2. BRING TISSUES AND HAND GEL
Nobody likes the portaloos, but you’re probably going to have to face them at least once throughout your day, so make sure you’re prepared with tissues and antibacterial hand gel.
3. GETTING TO THE FRONT…
My best tip for getting to the front is to work your way down the side, and then in. Don’t try and work from the back through the middle – it never seems to work! Also, saying ‘excuse me’ will get you a long way, or, you know, just pretend you’re lost and looking for a friend…
4. BRING A PORTABLE PHONE CHARGER
If you’re wanting to take plenty photos and create an epic Snapchat story, you’ll deffo need juice on your phone! Also helpful so that you can keep in touch with pals as well, which leads me onto my final point…
5. HAVE A MEETING PLACE
The Parklife arena is preeeetty huge, and it’s easy to get split up from your friends in the crowds, so have an area or a spot picked out from the start in case you get lost and need to regroup! The huge ‘PARKLIFE’ letters are always a good shout.
So there we go, the countdown to Parklife is definitely on!
If you’re heading to the festival stay safe, and have an absolute blast… I know I will!
