Tapas Revolution Bar – Newcastle

I’ve heard so many good things about Tapas Revolution, so when I was invited along to the launch of their new bar I was super excited!

Friday 8th December saw the opening of the new lounge on Blackett Street, which is inspired by the lively bars of Spain, and it was like Christmas came early! It features an extensive new Sangria menu, which is full of innovative and exciting fruity combos.

I tried 3 out of 5 Sangria’s from the menu-

White Berry Sangria (£16): Made with white wine, blueberry, raspberry, strawberry and blackberries.

Sparkling Tropical Sangria (£18): Refreshing Sangria with crisp Cava, passionfruit, watermelon, pineapple, orange and lime.

Blood Orange Rosé Sangria (£16): Made with rosé wine, blood oranges, grapefruit, lemon, orange and lime.

All three Sangria’s were deliciously refreshing, and every sip transported me to Spain. It’s exactly what I needed, especially in this cold weather!

Sparkling Tropical Sangria

For those of you who aren’t interested in Sangria, the bar offers a great selection of wines and beers (or should I say vino and cervezas!), a wonderful menu of Spanish inspired cocktails AND a Gin Tonic menu. I veered away from the Sangria for just one drink to try the Veterano Julep cocktail which was divine! I’m not usually a fan of brandy, but this is mixed with wild strawberry, pomegranate, vanilla, mint and lemon, and tasted so refreshing! Gin is also my favourite spirit, but I decided I’d save that menu for another night!

The bar area is separated from the main restaurant with a glass facade, and is such a lively and exciting room! The combination of dark woods, bright blue tiles and copper really does make you feel like you’re in an urban bar on the streets of Madrid. It’s definitely set to become the new drinking destination in Newcastle, and I for one can’t wait to head back!
