Can’t quite believe we’re already a month (and a bit!) into 2023 – where is the time going? January has been a busy month for us, and if I’m being honest it’s also been a little tough. January blues have most certainly been a thing and my mental health has taken a bit of a blow – I think February calls for a lot of self care and chill time. Anyway, here’s my debrief on the first month of the new year…let’s take a look what I’ve been up to!

TRIP TO THE ARCADE

We headed along to The Arcade Warehouse at the Royal Quays in North Shields early January which was SO much fun! You pay for a 2 hour session then once you’re in there all the games are free to play and there’s such a range of retro and modern games to choose from. Adam absolutely destroyed me on guitar hero…but I won at pool!

DREAMLIGHT VALLEY

Ok so sticking with the game theme… Adam was so sweet and to help pick me up when I was feeling down, bought me Disney Dreamlight Valley for the Switch after I’d been chatting about it for a while and let me tell you – I’m OBSESSED! It’s honestly been such wonderful escapism and is also making me so excited for our trip to Florida later in the year!

WEDDING PHOTOSHOOT

Ok so this photo is a bit ominous but I don’t want to give anything away just yet… Let’s just say we had a fun photoshoot with our wedding photographer for our invites and the finished product is so fun and SO us! Expect some wedding content and chat over the next couple of months…it’s only 10 weeks now until the big day and it’s all things GO!

WHAT I’VE BEEN WATCHING

Here’s what I was watching in January.

1- BABYLON
Another absolute masterpiece from Damien Chazelle here – Babylon was absolutely incredible. The cast were perfect and the film was just so powerful, emotional and mesmerising.

2- ROYAL RUMBLE
Royal Rumble is my FAVE of the WWE shows – it’s just so much fun and there’s always so much drama. I LOVE IT! I’m STILL thinking about that image below…

3- HAPPY VALLEY
GOODNESS. GRACIOUS. ME! This final series of Happy Valley has been outstanding and what a perfect ending, right? We actually only watched series one and two over the Christmas holidays ready for this final one and I think it has been one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. 10000000% gonna have James Norton in Burgess’ Buff Blokes 2023…

So there’s the first debrief of 2023…let’s see what February brings!
