Say Goodbye To The January Blues


January always feels long and can be tough, but this year it really seems to have gone on forever. We’re so close to the finish line and in the final week now but if you’re still feeling a little blue, I’ve put together a list of things to do that have helped me feel better, and they might work for you too!

1. Cute Date Night

Whether it’s with your partner or just a mate, a nice little date night always makes me feel better. Adam and I decided to treat ourselves to tapas at The Lamp Room in Seaham the other week (you can read my review here) and then headed to the cinema to see The Gentlemen (which is great!) and it was just what the doctor ordered.


2. Treat Yo’ Self 

Whether it’s to a beauty product, a new book, or just 10 minutes peace and quiet – treat yourself to something that puts a smile on your face. You deserve it!

3. Have A Clear Out 

Clear room, clear mind – that’s a saying, right? I’m in the middle of having my bedroom decorated so I’ve had to have a good clear out of everything I own and it’s been amazing. I feel like a new woman! I’m usually so bad at holding onto things and being too scared to throw things away but I’ve managed to be ruthless this time around and it has made me feel much better. My room looks less cluttered too!

4. Get Cooking

Even though I get worked up when I’m in the kitchen (I’m terrible at sticking to timings and doing more than one thing at a time), I still absolutely love spending time cooking and baking! I especially love cooking for Adam and it’s one of my new years resolutions to be more creative. I cooked Wahaca chicken tacos for tea last week and they were so tasty!


5. Rewatch An Old Fave

I’m a huge film and tv fan and love to watch new things but sometimes you just need the comfort of an old favourite. I’ve just started rewatching Modern Family and even though I’ve seen it before, I’m loving watching the first couple of seasons and laughing all over again!

Hopefully these tips might help you to feel a little better. Just remember to look after yourself and to talk to someone if things get too much x
