Festival season is well within reach and for me it all starts THIS weekend with the return of Stockton Calling!
I’m getting so excited for the daylong festival that I’ve had the SC playlist on repeat these last couple of weeks getting myself hyped for it. It’s been so nice to as well to discover new artists that I’ve never heard in readiness for the festival too. There are over 80 artists performing across 11 venues throughout the day and, although it would be awesome to, sadly you can’t see everyone. I’ll definitely be getting the steps in on Saturday as I run about town trying to catch as many people as I can though!
With that in mind, here’s a list of who I would like to see at the festival.
WAX HEART SODALITY
Not a band. An organisation. If you love a bit of theatre and mystery, which I absolutely do, then Wax Heart Sodality are going to be for you. I can’t wait to finally see these guys live!
Green Room. 6.30pm-7pm.
Glaswegian singer/songwriter Cara Rose has one of the most soulful and beautiful voices that I’ve ever heard. Her set at Stockton Calling is definitely going to be a special one and I’m really looking forward to it.
ARC 2. 3.15pm-3.45pm.
RETRO VIDEO CLUB
Adam and I caught indie/rock band Retro Video Club at TRNSMT last year and they were so bloody good live! Their set is definitely one not to be missed.
ARC 2. 8.30pm-9.15pm
Sunderland’s bigfatbig have already made quite the name for themselves on the local scene and I’m bloody gutted I haven’t had a chance to see them live yet, which is why I’m SO excited it’s finally going to happen this weekend!
Green Room. 7.30pm-8pm.
So there we have it, just a handful of artists that I can’t wait to catch live at Stockton Calling this weekend. You can find the whole line up and festival guide on their website, here. Who are you excited to see? Let me know! x
* Full disclosure: I have been gifted tickets to the festival in exchange for this blog post. All opinions are my own.
