Hello, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I’ve sadly neglected my blog over the Christmas period due to busy schedule and work commitments, but I’m sure I’ll learn to organise myself and my time with posts as my blog grows.
I thought I’d do a post here to say hello, and to do a little recap on 2016 before I fully throw myself into the new year. Don’t worry, I’ll keep it brief!
I absolutely LOVE Christmas, and I’m so excited that it’s only a week away. I always feel nostalgic this time of year and think about past years, past celebrations, and past gifts. I’m sure we all have stories of our favourite Christmases and magical moments, and I wanted to share mine.
So it’s that time of year where everyone reflects on their favourite films, favourite albums and, in my case, favourite men of the year. A friend cleverly came up with a fun name for it: #BurgessBuffBlokes2016!
This is, honestly, the most thought I’ve put into anything. I feel like I worked harder on this than I did for my degree. After 5 days thinking it through and numerous arguments with myself, I finally whittled my long list of 50-odd fellas down to 25…and here they are!

I’m a huge fan of liquid matte lipsticks, so when I was browsing through Beauty Bay and spotted the new Hydra Matte Metallic Liquid Lipsticks from Gerard Cosmetics, I was immediately drawn in.
So in October I promised that I’d be doing a ‘Sounds Of…’ playlist on Spotify each month consisting of 20 songs that I’m currently listening to…and here it is for November!
There’s a lot of cool new music about at the minute from the likes of Childish Gambino, Sia and DNCE so expect to hear those guys in there, alongside some other tunes from The Black Sheep Frederick Dickens, Casual Threats, LIFE, Justice, The xx, Avalanche Party and PLAZA…just to name a few!

Hailing from Hull, LIFE are a band that have gone from strength to strength recently, making a real name for themselves.
If you don’t know who Sebastian Stan is, then I can only assume that you’ve been living under a rock.
When people ask me my hobbies, I find myself saying ‘saving photos of Sebastian Stan to my Pinterest‘ and I’m being 100% serious. He’s a God amongst men and my MCM every bloody week.

I’m a real sucker for a good drama and probably binge watch shows waaaay too much, but I’m willing to bet that I’m not the only one!
Now that the nights are getting darker and it’s getting colder, there’s nothing better than staying in for the night curled up on the settee with a cuppa and a good series.
I’ve put together a list of some of my absolute favourite shows that I’ve watched over the years, so if you’re looking for a new series to binge this Autumn, take a look! Maybe you’ll find something new that you end up loving, or maybe you’ll be reminded of how good a series is and end up revisiting it. Either way…enjoy!
For the past week I’ve had DNCE ‘Body Moves’ on REPEAT. Their latest tune follows the same path as ‘Toothbrush’ and ‘Cake By The Ocean’…it’s catchy as hell! It’s the lead single taken from their self titled debut album, which is due for release on November 18th, which I can’t wait to hear.
The video for the single, directed by Hannah Lux Davis, is super hot to say the least! It shows the band performing, letting loose and getting preeeetty raunchy in a lift.
Joe Jonas is certainly proving his wholesome, innocent days are behind him with his antics in this video…so let’s take a few minutes to appreciate that.
So I’ve FINALLY joined Spotify! I’m late to the party, I know…
I’m constantly making playlists on my iPod so I thought, why not create them on Spotify for you to enjoy too! The idea is that I’m going to create one playlist each month of 20 songs- a mix of new tunes, and some older faves, that I’ve been listening to.
October is my first playlist and features songs from Slaves, Kings of Leon, High Tide 15:47, Busted, White Lies, The Last Shadow Puppets and many more.
