We’re a quarter of the way through 2022 now – Spring has sprung, festivals have started, Easter eggs have been eaten and I’ve been on my first holiday of the year! It’s actually been a really busy month now that I think about it…
Let’s have a catch up and I’ll tell you aaaall about it in April’s debrief.
Adam and I had our second trip to the theatre of the year when we went to see Disney’s Bedknobs and Broomsticks at Sunderland Empire and oh my goodness, it was incredible! It was one of my favourite films as a kid and I used to watch it on repeat with my Grandma, so seeing it on stage brought back so many memories and felt so nostalgic. Might have to pop round to Grandma’s and put it on with her again for old times sake! If you get a chance to see the show when it comes around again though, I would definitely recommend.
April wasn’t just for music festivals (check out my review of Stockton Calling here) it was also when Bishop Auckland Food Festival took place which saw hundreds of people, food vendors and even some celebrity chefs descend upon the town for the weekend. We headed along for a day out, bought loads of cheese (obviously) and I even got a photo with Chigs from Bake Off!!
ONE YEAR TO GO!
I think the biggest thing to happen in April is that we officially started the countdown to our WEDDING! Just under a year to go until our big day now and I’m feeling so excited. It sounds ridiculous but it’s all definitely starting to ‘feel real’ now!
Feel like I also need to give special mentions to Sam Fender because we saw him live in April which was mint, Easter which was a lush weekend spent with the family and most importantly Zadar which we visited for our holidays…but I’ll tell you more about that another time!
WHAT I’VE BEEN WATCHING
Here’s a few bits and bobs that I watched in April.
1- MOON KNIGHT
I’m a HUGE Marvel fan and I’ve been loving the series that they’ve been releasing on Disney Plus. I’m also a big fan of Oscar Isaac so was really looking forward to watching Moon Knight. I’ve found it a little confusing but absolutely LOVED episode 5. I think I might watch the series again in one sitting to full register it all!
2- THE UNBEARABLE WEIGHT OF MASSIVE TALENT
Me and my Dad LOVE Nicolas Cage so the minute we saw that he’d be playing HIMSELF in a film, we knew we had to go and see it together. Honestly right, I thought it was brilliant! It was hilarious, action packed and incredibly refreshing as a film. Can’t wait to watch it again. Also, PEDRO PASCAL!!!!
3- INSIDE NO 9
The new series of Inside No 9 started again in April and so far, the first two episodes have been excellent. If you’ve never watched the show before I suggest you definitely catch up from series 1. Each episode is stand alone so you don’t technically need to, but they’re so genius that you absolutely should.
Lots of fab plans for May as well, plus it’s the countdown to my birthday (1st June)! Have a fun month and we’ll catch up soon… x
