First food review of 2020, and my goodness it’s a good one…
Adam and I had ourselves a lovely little date night last Friday and finally headed along to The Lamp Room in Seaham, having been recommended it a few times by numerous people!

Happy New Year! 2020 is here and I don’t know about you, but I’m planning on making it my best year yet.
I’m a little late again this year on reflection posts as I’ve been taking time out to spend the festive period with family away from my laptop, but I am back and I am READY to give you my Burgess’ Buff Blokes of 2019 list!
If you’re unfamiliar with this, let me explain…
1. I put together a list of my top 25 sexy celebs of the year.
2. In order to be featured they have to have done something during the year.
3. Only 3 men from my previous years list can make it into this one!
Now that you know the rules, let’s get going with my #BurgessBuffBlokes2019
WARNING: This post may make you thirsty, please stay hydrated…
I’ve managed to see Cat Una play a couple of times in Newcastle now, both supporting Tom Williams, and really fell in love with her voice. On Friday 6th December, she’s releasing her brand new single ‘Wait It Out’ on Monomyth Records – I was given a little preview of the single and let me tell you, you’re in for a treat!
I decided to catch up with her ahead of the release to chat about the her music, festivals and what we can expect from her in 2020!

I’m always happiest when I’m stuffing my face with pizza so when I was invited along to PizzaExpress in Jesmond to check out their newly refurbished restaurant, I certainly wasn’t going to decline the offer!

The first ever Angry Birds Adventure Golf course has opened at intu Metrocentre and Adam and I were so excited to be invited along for a game earlier this month, just after we’d visited the Arctic Experience. We both absolutely love mini/crazy golf and we’re both pretty competitive- there have been many times in our relationship already where we’ve fallen out playing games. Ok, I say ‘we’ but what I mean is that I’ve taken the huff because I’m a bad loser – oops!
So I have a question… WHERE has this year gone?!
I hate to be that person but seriously it’s November and it’s like I’ve blinked and missed the past few months. It’s actually quite scary. I wanted to do a little catch up on the blog as I feel like I haven’t had a good ole natter with you for a while. It’s been a month since my last post!
So what’s been happening…
Summer went so fast this year. I was away a lot either working at festivals or at them as a punter and it was awesome! I was meant to write about some of them, but maybe I’ll do that some other time…
I don’t know about you but I can be so stuck in my ways when it comes to eating out. I’m so indecisive that I find myself just going back to the same places for easiness unless someone else has organised the outing!
One thing I love about blogging though is that I’m lucky enough to be given the opportunity to eat at restaurants I possibly wouldn’t usually go to or know about, and it’s helping me get better at trying new places.
My most recent jaunt was to Beamish after being invited along to try food at the wonderful Stables Bar and Restaurant.
Situated right next to St Andrew’s Church in Gallowgate, Escape Key is not only considered the best escape room in Newcastle but is also listed in the top 100 in the world!
Having never done an escape room before, I was so excited to be given the opportunity to visit with friends and see what all the fuss was about!
I absolutely love it when my Auntie and Uncle go on holiday. Not because I want rid of them, just because it means I get to help my Grandma look after my favourite little floof…Crunchie!
If you follow my socials you’ll no doubt be familiar with him. He’s a two and a bit year old Coton de Tulear who’s lively, playful and a little bit of a pain in the bum! We love him though, obviously.
Last month when we were looking after him, we decided to have a run out and took him to our family friends pet store – Kimi’s Pet Emporium!

Back in July, Adam and I were invited along to the opening night of Cosy Club in Durham. The bar and restaurant has opened in the city as part of the new Riverwalk development and is the first branch to open in the North East! I visited Cosy Club in Liverpool last year with my friend Vic and we had a wonderful afternoon drinking cocktails, sharing a platter and playing Scrabble, so I was really excited to have one opening just up the road and to have been invited along!
